Tasracing is pleased to announce that greyhound racing has received an increase of $108,149 in funding for the 2013/14 season which is above CPI.
The increase will be passed onto participants with the retention of the current levels for all Breeders Incentives and Payments and a $30 per race increase to all graded events from 1 October 2013.
The greyhound budget includes items relating to prizemoney, breeders incentives and payments, Greyhound Adoption Program and a provision for the 2018 nationals.
The funding for the 2018 Nationals is a provision towards the stakes that will be required in 2018 for the National Championship Grand Finals.
The Breeders Incentives and Payments include the Tasbred Bonus, Tasbred Juvenile Bonus, DNA Testing for Bitches and the Breeders Bonus while the stakes funding has provision for 73 additional races during the season.
The current Code Funding Allocation formula has been in place for the past three years and is to be reviewed prior to the 2014/15 allocation.
