Harness trainer Rohan Hillier fined

Racing Services Tasmania stewards have concluded an inquiry into a report received from Racing Analytical Services Ltd which indicated that a sample taken from Nola Mayhem at trials conducted at Devonport on February 17 disclosed the presence of phenylbutazone and oxyphenbutazone.
At the inquiry evidence was tendered from trainer Rohan Hillier and a Racing Analytical Services analyst.
Hillier pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 190 (1) which states, “A horse shall be presented for a race free of prohibited substances”.
In determining penalty stewards took into account Hillier’s long involvement in the harness racing industry; his guilty plea and forthright evidence; and the fact that it was his first offence under this rule.
Stewards fined Hillier $2000.
