Following the introduction of the new national breeding rules, Tasracing has adopted the following policy which details the criteria on which an application to breed a fourth litter from a breeding female or to breed with a breeding female over 8 years of age will be based.
Breeders with bitches over 8 years of age or those that have already whelped three litters will still require to register their bitches as breeding female and obtain a pink card, but they will also have to complete the Application to Breed with a female over eight year of age and/or breed over three litters form. Both this form and the Pink Card application are available from the Office of Racing Integrity.
Approval to breed a fourth litter from a breeding female or to breed from a breeding female over 8 years of age is required prior to the female being mated.
These requirements are effective from 1 August 2015.
