Non Penalty Heats Conditions

Wednesday 30 September 2015

With the commencement of the new programming policies to meet the stakes funding reset the following will apply to the non-penalty reverse Order of Choice heats called for in the Forthcoming Programmes:

  • One heat will be scheduled if there are 8 or more eligible nominations
  • Two heats will be scheduled if there are 16 or more eligible nominations
  • If only one heat is scheduled, then those greyhounds contesting the heat shall be nominated for the full stakes final the following week.
  • If only one heat is scheduled, there will be only be 9 races programmed for the meeting.

There are some unexpended stakes from the funding for the period 1 July to 30 October 2015.

If there are not sufficient nominations to conduct any heats of the non-penalty races, then the stakes for one race only will be funded and nine races only will be scheduled.

This race will be funded from the funds allocated for the non-penalty heats with the balance being met from the unexpended stakes from July to October.

Once the balance of any unexpended stakes is exhausted, and there are not sufficient nominations to conduct the non-penalty heats, then only 8 races will be scheduled at the meeting.

If no heats are conducted a final only will be conducted at the following meeting with the field selection being made on a reverse Order of Choice.
