STEWARDS INQUIRY
Hobart Greyhound Racing Club Meeting 12 January 2017
Race 5 – Put Your Quaddies On Grade 5 Division 3 – 340m
Following the running of this event and subsequent to the “all clear” being given, it was reported that TIGRA TRON and SHANLYN CHINA had started from the incorrect starting box.
After interviewing Trainer Susan Gittus (TIGRA TRON), Trainer Graeme Moate and Attendant Steven Croft (SHANLYN CHINA), Club Officials Terry Woodwood and Brendon Lamprey, Starter/Steward Gary Cooper and Steward Greg Treweek, it was established that TIGRA TRON which was drawn to compete from Box 3 incorrectly wore the number 6 rug and started from Box 6 and SHANLYN CHINA which was drawn to compete from Box 6 incorrectly wore the number 3 rug and started from Box 3 in this event.
As Stewards were comfortably satisfied that TIGRA TRON and SHANLYN CHINA had started from the incorrect box positions for this event and acting under the provisions of GAR 64(1), Stewards directed that both greyhounds be disqualified and the finishing positions be amended accordingly.
