NW Track Project – Industry Consultation Committee established

Monday 22 March 2021

As recently announced by the Racing Minister, Jane Howlett, Tasracing has appointed Dalton Consulting Engineers (DCE) to provide design and engineering services for the proposed dual harness and greyhound racing and training facility on the northwest coast.

Tasracing plans to build new race tracks for both the harness and greyhound codes, with an $8 million contribution from the Tasmanian Government over two years.

DCE has significant experience in racetrack design and construction management.

As also announced, Tasracing will continue to engage with our industry partners as much as possible regarding the development of a new site on the northwest coast.

To assist with this, an industry project committee has been established comprising Clare McDonald, Mike Castles, Nathan Rockliff and Adrian Duggan from the harness code, and Robyn Johnston, Ben Englund, Justin Crawford and Graeme Barber from the greyhound code.

The committee’s representatives will provide feedback direct from industry to Tasracing, and we will use committee representatives to feed information back to our industry partners.
