Friday 12 July 2019

The BOTRA Concession Driver Series will be staged at Launceston on Sunday 21 July.

Twelve of the state’s up and coming stars have been invited to contest the four-race series with owners and trainers keen to support the new concept, given the quality of the emerging talent.

Samantha Gangell is one of the leading contenders for the BOTRA Series after enjoying a breakout season, accumulating 26 wins to head the Leading Female Drivers Award.

Troy McDonald has exploded on the Tasmanian scene and is currently sixth on the State Drivers Premiership table, sitting comfortably between two of Tasmania’s top reinsmen in Rohan Hillier and Rohan Hadley.

Junior Driver leader Conor Crook (pictured) is another to have quickly established himself in the state’s driving ranks, gaining the respect of his more senior and experienced fellow reinsmen.

Hannah Van dongen and Taylor Ford have made bright starts to their careers and are enjoying highly successful seasons while Matt Cooper is racking up wins with his star four-year-old Call Me Hector.

Kimberley Grant, Charlie Castles, Lachlan Dakin, Brady Woods and Andrew Freeman will all be keen to make their mark during the series and continue to enhance their careers.
