Expressions of interest – OTT Coaches

Friday 10 January 2020

Tasracing’s Off The Track program assists in the transition of retired thoroughbred and standardbred horses to equestrian and pleasure pursuits, and provides support for their ongoing wellbeing. Tasracing facilitates monthly clinics for the education of newly retired horses and those who have had little or no re-training. The clinics also provide support, education and mentoring to riders.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified equestrian coaches and horse trainers to facilitate the Off The Track (OTT) clinics across the State.   • Assess ability of rider and match with a safe and appropriate horse;
  • Provide regular and consistent feedback for development to riders;
  • Actively participate in monthly OTT meetings, planning sessions, operating procedure and policy development (approximately 2 hours a month).

  • Demonstrated commitment to equine welfare practices, and a professional, respectful and proud attitude towards the racing industry;
  • Strong equine background, with demonstrated experience in the education and training of thoroughbred and standardbred horses;
  • Proven ability to create and maintain a safe environment for both riders and horses;
  • Excellent communication skills, applicable and relatable to equine enthusiasts of all levels;
