Greyhound programming update

Friday 4 May 2018

The Programming Sub Committee at its meeting in March again reviewed the decision that the option to nominate “No Higher” not be permitted except when nominating for a maiden event.

The exclusion to nominate “No Higher” has been on trial since 1 September 2017.

No submissions were received by the Sub Committee, either for or against, since the January meeting and Tasracing has accepted the majority recommendation that the option to nominate “No Higher” not be permitted when nominating (except when nominating for a maiden event) on a permanent basis.

No further changes to the Minimum Nominations and Race Programming policies were enacted and the current policies will now be published in the Policy Manual.

Trainers are reminded that 11 races will continue to be scheduled if there are sufficient nominations.  The programmes will, on occasions, only list 10 programmed races with the additional race being determined by the nominations in accordance with the order of races listed in Clause 2.5 of the Minimum Nominations policy.  Qualifying trials will be restricted to 3 heats when 11 races are programmed.

The programming will continue to undergo review and development and participants are encouraged to provide written comments and/or suggestions for improvement to their Club or Tasracing to assist in this ongoing improvement process.
