WITH the Derby – Hobart Cup long weekend of racing in the rearview mirror the focus of the Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival heads north to Launceston where the Tasmanian Turf Club will host the last two meetings of the carnival.

Oaks Day on Sunday February 24 is always a great day out for the general public with a family-day atmosphere backed up with great racing that includes the Tasmanian Oaks and the Magic Millions Classic events.

But Cup day is the biggest race day of the year for the Tasmanian Turf Club and it once again has assembled a plethora of race experience options.

General admittance offers food stalls providing a variety of cuisines and food styles as well as a number of beverage options that includes the Lazy Lounge Beer Garden, the Punters Bar, middle and public bar.

View the horses parading in the mounting yard with plenty of room to stand and watch your selections parade prior to them racing.

The cost of a pre-sold general admission ticket is only $30 but $35 if you pay on the day (February 27).

Picnic Car Parks are located in the Leger, Lower Leger, Home Turn and at the back of the main grandstand and cost ranges from $385 (home turn and behind grandstand) and $495 (leger).

A spot in the Leger Lawn Marquee costs $80 and includes admission, finger food, drink on arrival, live entertainment with Matt Garwood and it is situated in the heart of the action on the leger.

One of the most popular areas oncourse is the Young Racegoers Marquee and for $175 per person the venue offers all-inclusive food and beverages plus a range of entertainment but tickets are selling fast.

Tickets are still available in the Jansz Corporate Marquee that offers all-inclusive food and beverages, live entertainment (Tassie Tenor) guest speakers and it is situated on a trackside location and all for only $295 per person.

It includes admission, race books, all inclusive food and beverages and all-day entertainment from one of the most versatile comedic entertainers in Australia who also doubles as a tipster – this will be an unforgettable experience – cost is $5000 ($333 per head) but worth every cent (contact TTC CEO Peter Scott 0363 261070)
