Merci! More Tasmanian racing for France

Thursday 4 January 2018

THE success of Tasmanian’s Wednesday night racing that is being beamed into France has led to a significant increase in the number of meetings to be broadcast into that country in 2018.

France secured 11 meetings for coverage in 2017 but this year it will deliver 15 meetings on its Equidia network which is the French equivalent of Sky Channel.

Three races on the back half of the Launceston night programs this year will be televised live into France and included in the coverage is a Late Mail segment produced by Tasracing that provides comments and tips delivered in French for each race.

The Late Mail is played out on Equidia Live prior to the start of each race.

Turnover on Tasmanian racing in France has continued to grow since it was first introduced five years ago, which is another factor in the increased coverage for 2018.

The first meeting to be beamed throughout France in 2018 is on January 17 with the March 14 meeting the last to be broadcast this season.

Coverage resumes on October 31 with the December 19 meeting the last to be covered in 2018.

Many of the Launceston night meetings also are beamed into Singapore and other countries in the Asia-Pacific Region through Tasracing’s association with Sky Channel.

Below is the 2018 France schedule.
