A feature of the 2013 Tasmania Premier Harness Yearling Sale, to be held at the Inveresk Showground, Launceston on Saturday, January 5, is the high percentage of race-winning or winner-producing mares with progeny in the sale.
Of the 43 lots in the catalogue, 29 are out of race-winning mares and 23 are from winner producers.
The impressive list is headed up by the Tasmanian Oaks winner Cosmic Ice 1:58.4, Bonny Lena 1:56.8 (Tas. Bocquet), Kirra Point (Tas. Sweepstakes), El Jays Belle (Belmont) and the Vicbred semi-final winner Pandoras Reign 1:57.9.
Other winning mares with yearlings include Lillani (12 wins), the dual Vicbred heat winner Boora Gold, Codys Gift (Evicus ht), Superior Stature and El Jays Angel.
The catalogue includes yearlings that are siblings to Group or Listed winners in Lombo Navigator (3rd ID Final), Gedlee (Globe Derby Stakes), Idengood Time (Tas. Sweepstakes), Ess Kay Precious (Bandbox Stakes), Bonny Lena, Posh Art (Tas. Sales Classic), El Jays Belle (Belmont) and Daisy Adele (Tas. Sales Classic).
