Internal Graphic Designer opportunity at Tasracing

We are currently searching for an experienced, permanent full-time Graphic Designer to join our team of enthusiastic professionals. The Graphic Designer is a pivotal role within the Marketing & Communications Team, and will work closely with other members of the team to design, develop and deliver promotional collateral to support our strategic marketing plan.

About the role:

As the Graphic Designer, you will be accountable to:

  • Provide graphic design and production services to all of Tasracing’s customers and stakeholder groups including wagering customers, racing clubs, sponsors and internal clients
  • Develop new design concepts including event and product logos
  • Adapt, modify and re-size existing design assets to suit different media requirements as required
  • Produce Tasracing’s primary owner/ trainer publication materials for all three codes of racing in both digital and hard copy format
  • Develop, adapt, re-size design material for Tasracing’s two annual awards dinners, including AV presentations
  • Produce tactical promotional material for digital and social media marketing
  • Update and administer Tasracing’s brand guidelines.

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

  • a Graphic Design or related degree or qualification
  • Minimum of five years graphic design experience in either a corporate or agency environment
  • Strong skills in the Adobe product suite of tools, particularly In-Design and Illustrator
  • Design output skills across all mediums including digital and print
  • Highly developed time management skills
  • Experience in sports or entertainment sectors desirable but not essential
  • Design capability for web use, including a responsive design, as well as experience in UI and UX for websites and applications desirable but not essential.

Contracts Manager

Tasracing is the Principal Racing Authority in Tasmania, with numerous venues across the State that provide both racing and training facilities to all three codes of racing: Thoroughbreds, Harness & Greyhounds. Tasracing has AUD 45 million worth of assets and a carefully designed capital expenditure budget.

We are looking for a Contracts Manager, reporting directly into the Asset & Facilities Manager. It is expected that the successful applicant will further develop their skills, and with the provision of supportive and proactive training, evolve the position into a Project Management role in due course.

Duties will include:

  • End-to-end Project and Contract management of cost, time frame and outcomes
  • Assist the Asset & Facilities Manager to derive Project/ Contract initiation leading to Board approval
  • Site management including contract administration and high-level stakeholder management
  • Preparation of Scope documents, estimate preparation and procurement process controls
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant industry legislation and developing best practice policy and procedures.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience or projects/ contracts management experience with a demonstrated portfolio of successfully completed projects
  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in construction and/ or Project Management related field
  • Possession of industry related certification desirable
  • Be proficient in MS  Project, Office and relevant construction management software
  • Knowledge and understanding of the BCA
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisation and time management skills with the ability to work within prescribed time frames
  • Ability to work within a team and also autonomously
  • Comprehensive understanding of WH+S legislation.
