Industry Code of Conduct

Tasracing’s Industry Code of Conduct is all about creating a safe and respectful environment within the racing community – including Tasracing staff.  Our unwavering mission is to ensure every member of our team feels safe, protected, and valued while they go about their work. We are unapologetic about championing Tasracing’s core values and ethics, meeting our legal and ethical obligations, and upholding the principles of safety, honesty, and integrity.

 

 


                                         


What does good behaviour look like?

  • Being respectful and acting with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Preventing bullying, discrimination, harassment, vilification, or victimization.
  • Complying with reasonable and lawful directives from Tasracing representatives.
  • Displaying self-control and courtesy to all involved within our Industry.
  • Respecting the rights and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background, or religion.
  • Adopting appropriate and responsible behaviour in all interactions.
  • Adopting responsible behaviour in relation to alcohol and other drugs.
  • Acting with integrity and objectivity, and accepting responsibility for your decisions and actions.
  • Ensuring your decisions and actions contribute to a safe environment.
  • Ensuring your decisions and actions contribute to a harassment free environment.
  • Speaking up and reporting harmful or abusive behaviours.

What does unacceptable behaviour look like?

  • Abusive or threatening language.
  • Violent, threatening, or unsafe behaviours.
  • Engaging in bullying, discrimination, harassment, vilification, or victimization.
  • Misusing private or confidential information.
  • Failing to follow reasonable and lawful directives.
  • Breaching anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws or concealing conflicts of interest.

What happens if you breach the Industry Code of Conduct?

Separate to the Rules of Racing, our obligation to provide a safe workplace is a requirement under Tasmanian law. The potential consequences of breaching the Code of Conduct include:

    • Removal from our workplace or venue.
    • Bans from our workplaces and venues either temporarily or indefinitely.
    • Bans from interacting with Tasracing employees and representatives either temporarily or indefinitely.
    • Termination of services (for contractors or visitors).
    • Legal action.
