The Tasracing Harness Yearling Website Page will again be the vehicle for the promotion and sale of harness yearlings in 2016.
This year Vendors will receive increased editorial coverage for their entries through www.tasracing.com.au, www.harness.org.au , Facebook and other breeding related websites across Australia, as well as print and radio media.
It is planned to provide editorial for every yearling nominated and every Vendor represented on the website page, thus providing maximum exposure for all yearlings.
Buyers from previous Tasmanian yearling sales and Tasmanian buyers at interstate sales will be targeted together with all licensed personnel to encourage buyer interest in the website page.
Prospective purchasers will be able to utilise Tasracing breeding incentives to purchase yearlings via the website page. The incentives that can be used are the Breeders Coupon and the Tasbred Owners Breeding Incentive (TOBI).
Any yearling that is advertised on the website page, and has fulfilled all the conditions of the sale, will be eligible for a $2,000 first win bonus provided the win is achieved before the horse reaches five years of age. The $2,000 will be shared between the vendor and buyer with $1,000 for the vendor and $1,000 for the owner at the time the horse wins a race. All initial transfer details must be lodged with the Office of Racing Integrity no later than 30 April 2016 for the yearling to be eligible for the $2,000 first win bonus.
Use of the Harness Yearling Website platform is subject to the full sale terms and conditions.
Terms and conditions include:
- The page will be open from Friday 8 January 2016 to Friday 1 April 2016.
- Vendors are required to provide details of yearlings for sale to the Tasracing Harness Manager by Wednesday 30 December 2015.
- Details of a sale, including the sale price and the buyer(s), must be advised to Tasracing within one working day. The details will then be added to the website page.
- A sale is defined as a minimum of a 50% share in the yearling being transferred to a new owner(s). The new owner(s) cannot be family members or relatives of the vendor.
