The barrier draw advertised on Harvey for the 2YO Sweepstakes incorrectly displayed that the barrier draw was to be based on PBD/LT$, also incorrectly published in the August – September Harness Calendar.
The correct conditions for the Sweepstakes have been advertised on the Tasracing Corporate website since January 2020. The only amendment to these were the dates once rescheduled after the recommencement of racing. Within these conditions it states the following:
- Heats will be run for both divisions on the 24/05/2020 for sweepstakes eligible horses. Heats will be random barrier draw.
- If insufficient nominations for 2 heats a qualification race will be run on the 24/05/2020. Barrier draw for this race would be PBD/LT$.
- Finals will be conducted at Hobart on the 7th June 2020. Horses must have competed in the heats or qualification race to be eligible for the final. Barrier draw for the final will be random barrier draw.
The discrepancy was brought to the attention of Tasracing after publication of the final fields, so after consultation with the Office of Racing Integrity, the Director of Racing agreed that a redraw was required. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
