Tasmanian racing fans received a treat on Friday with 18 races run between Launceston and Carrick Park in the fan-friendly afternoon/twilight timeslot.
The afternoon doubleheader came about due to unforeseen racing calendar alterations including the change of location for the race meeting originally scheduled for Hobart on 8 January to Launceston.
Logistically there was a large amount of work behind the scenes that went into accommodating the switch of meetings, in particular from the three race clubs involved, the North Eastern Pacing Club (NEPC), Carrick Park Pacing Club (CPPC) and Tasmanian Turf Club (TTC).
Tasracing would like to thank the clubs for their assistance and were pleased to see good patronage at both Carrick Park and Launceston on Friday afternoon.
The feature meetings as part of the Ladbrokes Tasmanian Summer of Racing certainly delivered as Mark Yole won his third NEPC Cup with Tisu Spirit and Swoop Dog and Toorak Affair won the Listed races at the Ladbrokes Racing Centre Mowbray in Launceston.
