Tasracing has reviewed the recommendations of the Programming Sub Committee following the meeting on 26 November 2020 and has amended the Minimum Nominations Policy and the Race Programming policy effective from 17 March 2021.
The amendments to the Minimum Nominations policy are cosmetic. The changes do not impact the way in which the policy is implemented nor the races which are programmed if the races called for are not supported.
The Race programming Policy has been amended with the removal of the wording of “Reverse Order of Grade and Reverse Order of Choice” from the Free-to-All Masters Races.
The change to the Free-to-All Masters Races has been under trial since August 2020 to evaluate any effect the change might have on the ability to obtain nominations for top grade races. The trial revealed no significant impact. During the period of the trial there was only one submission from industry on the change.
Details of the amended policies can be viewed (here).
Policies are continually monitored to ensure they are working to meet the expectations and requirements of the industry. Participants are encouraged to provide written comments and/or suggestions for any improvements to their Club or Tasracing to assist in this ongoing review process.
