NATIONAL SPRINT AND DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE

Greyhound Clubs Australia (GCA) has announced the cancellation of the Grand Finals of the 2021 National Sprint and National Distance Championships which were to be held at The Meadows on Saturday 28 August 2021. The GCA media release can be read here.

The Ladbrokes Tasmanian Sprint and Distance Championships at Launceston will proceed with eligibility conditions as originally advertised. Greyhounds will be eligible to compete in these events if they have been domiciled in Tasmania for at least 76 out of the 150 days immediately preceding the nomination closing date. Full eligibility criteria can be read here. Trainers should contact ORI prior to the nomination closing date if they are unsure of a greyhounds’ eligibility to enter.

The Ladbrokes Tasmanian Sprint Championship winner will be given a slot into the Semi Finals of the Million Dollar Chase currently scheduled to be held on 17 September 2021.

Please note that nominations for the Ladbrokes Tasmanian Sprint Championship close at 10:00am Thursday 29 July 2021. Nominations for the Tasmanian Distance Championship will close as normal at 10:00am Friday 6 August 2021.
