Greyhound participants – Note from Tasracing in relation to lure and boxes at Mowbray Monday evening
Lure Failure
- Cause identified as incorrect fitting of the battery by Tasracing
An updated process will be implemented to ensure the lure, including battery fitting, is peer-checked prior to meeting commencement.
- When battery was fitted again, the remote controller would not register signal with the lure. Spare battery was used and multiple resets were attempted with remote controller still not registering signal
Tasracing will address directly with the lure provider, Steriline.
Box failure
- The replacement trial lure was operating on loose nylon wheels which created additional gap between the lure and trip magnets
Nylon wheels have been replaced and will also be more regularly checked
- 515m lure trip magnet was not optimally positioned for the back-up lure, contributing to box failure
Rectified and all trip magnets will be checked more regularly.
