Tasracing has appointed David Manshanden to the position of Chief Operating Officer.
The current Racing Adviser to Racing Minister Madeleine Ogilvie, Dave will officially start in his new position with Tasracing next month (May).
Tasracing CEO Andrew Jenkins said many industry participants would be familiar with Dave.
“Those who know him would appreciate that he not only brings with him a genuine love of racing but a significant body of relevant experience from which Tasracing and the industry will benefit,” he said.
Prior to joining the minister’s office, he was the general manager of the Southern Football League, and immediately before that ran his own consultancy for three years. His clients included Magic Millions, Tasbreeders, the Armidale Stud and Trinder Racing.
He was Tasracing’s Racing Manager for seven years between 2010 and 2017, joining the business from Racing Services Tasmania (now the Office of Racing Integrity) where he was the harness chairman of Stewards.
Andrew said he was looking forward to formally welcoming Dave to the executive team and working with him on the ongoing development of the industry in Tasmania.
“Dave’s existing strong working relationships with participants and other racing stakeholders developed over many years will greatly assist us in this work,” he said.
