Tasracing, in conjunction with Tasbreeders, has scheduled an additional race on the Tasbred race night on 5 April at Launceston.
The $50,000 4YO over 1400m will be for Tasbred horses only.
The 4YO race will join the $50,000 2YO race over 1200m and the $50,000 3YO race also over 1200m for horses that have been paid up to the Tasmanian Thoroughbred Breeding Incentive Scheme.
Tasracing CEO Andrew Jenkins said the Tasbred scheme offered more than $1.5 million in prize money and bonuses annually.
“The returns of the Tasbred scheme since its inception has seen more than $5.25 million paid out to owners in races in Tasmania and Victoria,” he said.
The Tasbred scheme will also match the advertised *SuperVOBIS payment on a Victorian race win for Tasmanian-sired horses only.
Mr Jenkins said a yearling purchased at the 2024 Tasmanian Magic Millions sale that was Tasbred was also eligible for the $170,000 Tasmanian Magic Millions race series and $20 Million in prize money in the Magic Millions races nationwide.
