The north-west harness racing community is in mourning following the passing of Ian Kent, aged 66, on Wednesday.

Kent, was a former trainer, driver, owner and breeder.

Some horses he was involved with in more recent times, Weona Masterpiece, Peace Chief and Resurgence.

He also bred Raider Stakes and recent Tassie Golden Apple heat winner Pardoe Plugga.

Family and friends are invited to attend the interment of ashes to be held at Mersey Vale Memorial Park, 29-31 Stony Rise Road, Devonport on Thursday, 2nd January 2025 at 2:00pm

Tasracing sends its sincere condolences to the entire Kent family, including his daughters, Bronte, who recently trained her first winner as a thoroughbred trainer in North Queensland, and Kasey who currently resides in Victoria.
