Increases to TASBRED Nomination Fees

With the TASBRED Scheme in it’s fourth year the results are speaking for themselves.

Since the implementation of the TASBRED Scheme an increase in foals has been seen in Tasmania.

Funding to the scheme from the Thoroughbred Code Allocation has increased year on year with the government funding set to expire at the end of FY23.

In the 2021/22 racing season over $2M in bonuses will be on offer to eligible horses. Tasbreeders and Tasracing are seeking continued support from the Government and are working consistently to grow the scheme year on year with the key aim of keeping the scheme sustainable at the forefront on any changes.

Taking all this into account Tasracing in conjunction with Tasbreeders have approved an increase to the nomination fee for the TASBRED Scheme commencing for foals born in 2020.

  • Category A
Tasmanian Sired $550 (incl GST) increasing from $440
  • Category B
Interstate Sired $1,100 (incl GST) increasing from $880
  • Category C
Tasmanian Reared $1,650 (incl GST) increasing from $1,320

A one-off nomination fee is paid to Tasracing when the horse is a yearling.  The horse then becomes eligible for a bonus whilst it is 2, 3 and 4 years old, for a win in any specified TASBRED nominated race.

Nomination forms are available via TASBRED Thoroughbred Breeding Incentive Scheme (tasracingcorporate.com.au) with nominations closing 30 April 2022.
