Due to the exit of DAPS there is a lot of change from the dates allocated in 2021/22 for the greyhound code. Feature events with stake money over $5000 including the Devonport Chase have been relocated to Hobart. Named as The Chase until relocation back to the Coast, this will be run as a feature Thursday night meeting instead of the traditional Tuesday afternoon time slot. The heats will be on Thursday 17 November and the Group 3 final on Thursday 24 November. This will provide a good lead into the Group 1 Hobart Thousand in December.
Launceston will hold 27 of the transferred meetings from DAPS. The 2023 Launceston Cup will be a Saturday night event after an exchange of race dates with GRNSW. At this stage, this agreement with GRNSW is only in place for 2023 and all parties will meet early next year regarding future race dates.
With the National Sprint and Distance Grand Finals scheduled again this year, Launceston will host two Thursday nights on Sky 1, 4 and 11 August 2022 while Hobart will host the Monday night meetings on 8 and 15 August 2022.
Hobart will hold the Wednesday after the Melbourne Cup meeting, 2 November 2022 as a Sky 2 twilight meeting. Hobart are scheduled to host the Good Friday meeting on 7 April 2023 as a dual code meeting with the TTC. There will be 8 greyhound races programmed for this meeting.
The meeting on the Boxing Day holiday at Launceston on 27 December 2022, will be a Sky 2 meeting.
Hobart has been scheduled a Friday Twilight meeting as usual, 13 January to host the Maiden Thousand heats.
