Fighter Command, Tasracing’s representative for Saturday night’s TAB Eureka at Menangle has been withdrawn.
The Jess Tubbs trained Tasmanian bred pacer is currently undergoing emergency surgery for a twisted intestine, with the thoughts of all from Tasracing going out to the horse and all involved.
As per the Eureka T&C’s if there is a scratching after the barrier draw is completed the slot holder has up to 120 minutes to choose the replacement runner from the listed emergencies. If it is not done within this timeframe, the TAB Eureka panel will assign a horse.
This prevented a Tasmanian horse from being eligible for selection.
Tasracing, after discussions with a number of industry experts, has chosen Wisper A Secret as the replacement slot holder representative.
Wisper A Secret has won 12 of his 29 starts, including the Group 1 Rising Sun at Albion Park in July.
The four-year-old gelded son of Huntsville is prepared by Chantal Turpin from Queensland.
The decision for the replacement slot holder was made considering the return on investment for the Tasmanian Harness industry.
We wish all the best to the connections and a speedy recovery to Fighter Command.
