Tasracing announces new partnership with the Tasmania JackJumpers

Monday 2 September 2024

Tasracing was proud to announce our event and ambassador partnership with the Tasmania JackJumpers for the NBL25 season, at Friday’s highly anticipated Jersey Presentation and Season Launch.

Supporting the JackJumpers and celebrating the state’s vibrant sporting culture, of which we ourselves play a major part, was a key consideration for us when deciding to partner with the JackJumpers in this way.

This partnership embodies Tasracing’s commitment to supporting local organisations and contributing to the communities in which we race.

The JackJumpers are a beacon of pride for our community, showcasing the spirit, resilience, and determination of the Tasmanian people on the national stage. Tasracing shares this vision, with our commitment to shaping a united and vibrant racing industry of which Tasmania can be proud. By aligning with the JackJumpers a rapidly growing and highly respected Tasmanian sporting organisation, we aim to bring this vision to life.

At Friday’s season launch, in front of 200 guests, including partners, sponsors, and members of the public, we had the opportunity to tell our story while reinforcing what our investment brings to the state.

The synergies between Tasracing and the JackJumpers are clear – both organisations are deeply embedded in the Tasmanian community and share a commitment to fostering local talent and supporting the state’s vibrant sporting culture.

As Tasmania’s Principal Racing Authority, Tasracing oversees the ongoing development of the racing and breeding industries, markets Tasmanian racing to local, national, and international audiences, funds race clubs, manages racing venues, and oversees race day operations. Beyond racing, we are dedicated to enhancing animal welfare outcomes, investing in track safety infrastructure, expanding the Off-The-Track program for retired racehorses, and funding the Greyhound Adoption Program. Our responsibilities extend beyond the racetrack as we work tirelessly to promote and sustain the broader racing community, including the 6,400 people directly and indirectly employed by the industry.

Together, we can harness the JackJumpers’ extensive reach, the influence of their staff and players and their engaged audience to effectively communicate the initiatives and events our industry is delivering. This collaboration will ensure that Tasmanians not only recognise the vital role racing plays in our state’s economy and culture but also appreciate the exciting entertainment opportunities it offers.

As both the JackJumpers and Tasracing gear up for an exciting season of basketball and racing this Spring and Summer, we are excited to see this partnership flourish, bringing greater visibility to our shared goals and the passionate sports culture that is at the heart of Tasmania’s identity.
