Tasracing Elwick office announcement

Tasracing has closed its Elwick offices effective 5pm today (Tuesday 24 March).

The decision follows a week of staggered remote working.

Tasracing CEO Paul Eriksson said the office closure would protect the health and wellbeing of the company’s teams and the broader industry.

“Tasracing will continue to utilise skeletal staff on site between 9am and 1pm Monday to Friday for mail and other essential tasks,” he said.

“Our track teams have reduced capability on site and are successfully rotating staff to keep the number of people on site as low as possible at any one time.

“Our GAP team continues to be fully operational in order to best support our 25 greyhound residents, albeit with much more stringent appointment processes, hygiene and social distancing protocols.”

Mr Eriksson said the company and the industry would continue to face changes and challenges over the coming days, weeks and months.

“Our focus remains on the continuation of racing and the steps required to ensure this which for Tasracing means to continue to closely adhere to social distancing protocols, quarantining measures (if necessary) and increased general hygiene as racing in Tasmania continues to operate,” he said.

“I thank my staff and the Industry for their cooperation, flexibility and agility in adapting to new ways of working.”

Mr Eriksson said members of the Tasracing team would be available by email and their normal contact numbers.
