Tasracing has appointed Mrs Helen Galloway to its Board of Directors.

Mrs Galloway brings a wealth of international experience as a senior executive in commercial wagering and gaming industries, in addition to strategy and management of major capital projects.

Her most recent role was vice president of Casino Development and Strategic Analysis with Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, the largest casino operator in the world.

“We are looking forward to Helen’s contribution at our board table,” Tasracing chairman Dean Cooper said.

“Her commercial wagering and project management experience will be of enormous benefit to Tasracing as we embark on our 2020 and beyond strategic initiatives, including innovation in digital products and infrastructure investment.”

Originally from Tasmania, Mrs Galloway is a Certified Practicing Accountant and has a Bachelor of Information Systems and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania.

She has held a number of board positions, including the Canterbury Hockey Club currently in Hobart and previously the Singapore Hockey Federation.

Mrs Galloway fills the vacant board position created following the passing of former chairman Brian Speers in August 2015, and the appointment of Dean Cooper as Chairman in November 2015.
