I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Elliott to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. Well known to the industry, Kim has worked tirelessly leading the Assets and Facilities Team in recent years. This new role will see Kim take executive leadership for both assets and facilities, as well as racing. A key component of the new position will be to take primary responsibility for the roll out of the $43M Infrastructure Plan over the next five years. We wish Kim the best in his new role.
I would also like to advise that Mark Tarring has resigned his position as CFO of Tasracing, effective 23 December 2016. Mark made the decision to depart, and on behalf of the Board, I wish to thank him for his service and wish him well in his future endeavours. Recruitment will commence shortly for his replacement.
Racing is in full swing across the State, particularly as we will shortly commence the Luxbet Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival with the Tasmanian Guineas on Friday 6 January 2017. I wish all participants the very best and look forward to seeing some great racing action.
