The harness race meeting scheduled last night (Friday) in Launceston was postponed after strong wind conditions caused damage to a section of the stabling area.
With the cleanup effort well underway the seven race card will now be held on Monday afternoon commencing at 1:51 pm and will be telecast on tasracing.com.au’s Live Stream and Sky Racing 2.
The last race is scheduled for 5:16 pm which will not impact on the greyhound meeting in Launceston on Monday evening that commences at 7:18 pm.
The thoroughbred programme in Launceston tomorrow (Sunday) and the harness racing meeting in Hobart tomorrow night will proceed as planned.
As a result of the rescheduled meeting in Launceston on Monday, the harness trials scheduled for Monday night in Hobart have been transferred to Tuesday afternoon commencing at 5:00 pm and will be finished in time for greyhound trials at the same venue that evening.
The nominations for the harness race meetings set down for Hobart on Friday, May, 18 and Launceston on Sunday, May, 20 will now close at 9:00 am on Tuesday.
Despite the postponement of last night’s meeting the Trotting Workshop with Lance Justice and Michael Taranto still went ahead with many harness racing participants and fans in attendance in the lead up to the relaunch of Trotting races in Tasmania from July 1.
