Participants are advised that the new National Ratings Based Handicapping System will go live from 1 July 2019. As of May 1 horse ratings were visible on Harnessweb as well as some other online platforms. Participants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the HRA National Handicapping document, which explains how the new system will work.
At the most recent HRA Executive meeting it was determined that all class references would be removed as of 1 July 2019 to avoid confusion between the ‘old’ and ‘new’ system.
Tasracing are currently working with ORI in finalising state handicapping policies with HRA handicapping rules in their final draft with an expectation to be released to the industry soon. July programs are planned to be released mid-June.
