Overview – Greyhounds Australasia (GA) Rules Rework Project
During the first phase of stakeholder consultation between 22 February and 19 April 2021, the Greyhounds Australasia (GA) Rules Rework project received a large number of submissions to aid in the review of the Greyhounds Australasia Rules (National Rules). The Rules Rework Committee are now reviewing all submissions. While the committee considers those submissions no further feedback or submissions will be accepted.
A revised draft of the National Rules taking into consideration the first phase feedback will be provided for public consultation on 24 of May 2021. All Individuals and organisations will have the opportunity to make submissions in consideration of that draft.
This public round of consultation provides an opportunity for all individuals and organisations to respond, particularly to any new or substantially amended National Rules. The public consultation period will occur over two weeks. All submissions are to be sent directly to rulesrework@galtd.org.au.
Individuals and organisations that email through their submission will receive confirmation of receipt of their submission. Submissions will not receive an individual response specific to the submission. Submissions will not be accepted after 5:00 pm on Monday 7 June 2021.
When the final round of submissions has closed at 5:00 pm on Monday 7 June 2021, review and assessment of the phase two submissions will be reviewed by the Rules Rework Committee. Any clarification or follow-up will be undertaken within this period.
A final draft of the rules will then be presented to the Greyhounds Australasia Board for review and endorsement. When the updated GA Rules are endorsed an outline of any changes to the National Rules will be communicated publicly highlighting a summary of key changes.
A period of three months from 1 July 2021 to 30 September 2021 will allow participants to become familiar with rule changes before the updated national rules come into effect, on October 1, 2021.
