Thoroughbreds – Industry Appreciation Award 2021

Wednesday 14 July 2021

Tasracing is pleased to continue the Industry Appreciation Award introduced at the 2021 Tasmanian Thoroughbred Awards.

The Appreciation Award will recognise and celebrate the commitment, resilience and passion that our thoroughbred industry exhibits every day!

The annual awards have always recognised the best of the best in our industry – often measured by statistics.

This new award aims to celebrate and promote the work put in often behind the scenes and often with little or no fanfare.

It is hoped the new award will encourage those already working hard in the industry to keep the wheels turning and more than that to encourage new people into the industry that we all love so much.

As the name of the award suggests, nominations will be accepted for any person who is employed or volunteer at the ‘coal face’ of thoroughbred racing.

Nominations are now officially open!

Tasracing encourages employers or anyone in the industry to nominate a person they feel is worthy of this award.

Be on the lookout for Stable Hands, Stud Hands, Strappers, Administrators in training stables or clubs, breeding studs or industry committees. Anyone who sets an example of the dedication, passion and collaboration the industry needs to succeed.

This person must have demonstrated a degree of success that has been borne out of their particular skill set that has impacted the Thoroughbred Racing Industry either directly or indirectly.

To nominate provide the following details to racing@tasracing.com.au by COB, Friday 2nd September

  1. Nominee’s name
  2. Nominee’s position
  3. Nominee’s workplace
  4. Justification for nomination – include specific details of the reason why they should receive the Industry Appreciation Award
