Elderslie studmaster and breeder Sue Streit has a single offering at the 2022 Tasmanian Harness Yearling Sale to be held on Saturday, March 5 at Carrick Park.
However, on the score of blood, the filly (Lot 14) appeals as a dual purpose proposition of the highest order.
By the fast Artsplace import Stonebridge Real, who stands at Sue’s Elderslie Horse Care and Spelling stud, the filly is out of the former smart racemare Step Up And Play, whose 12 successes included the Golden Slipper and Mother Of Pearl.
Step Up And Play ranks as the dam of the Evicus heat winner and the Tasmanian Oaks, Sweepstakes and Blue Bonnet placegetter Stepping Stones.
Further back in the filly’s pedigree are horses the calibre of the Raider Stakes winner Watchmylips, Belliciouslips (1:55.9), Streitkid ($137,441), the Sweepstakes and Evicus winner Ima Miss Molly, Lambretta (Blue Bonnet) and Nitro Blue (Breeders Plate).
Interestingly, she carries three strong strains of the blood of Abercrombie through her sire Stonebridge Regal, her damsire Peace Of Art and her grand-dam’s sire Golden Greek.
“She’s a lovely big, strongly built filly with a nice temperament,” Sue said.
