Tasracing is currently developing a compliance program to ensure that all licensed trainers across the three codes of racing who are required to have workers compensation insurance under the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 hold appropriate insurance coverage.
The details of the compliance program will be finalised and communicated to all licensed trainers as a matter of priority. Tasracing will be providing resources to trainers shortly so they can receive specialist advice in relation to workers compensation insurance requirements.
In the meantime, Tasracing encourages any licensed trainers to obtain their own independent advice from licensed insurers as appropriate if they have any questions regarding workers compensation insurance.
