Commencing on Thursday night 6 June 2024, the following procedure will be implemented on a trial basis for North West based participants to trial greyhounds after kennelling and before the first race on Thursday nights in Hobart.
- Trainers must have a runner engaged at the meeting to be eligible to trial.
- There will be a maximum of 15 pre-race trials conducted.
- The number of trials any one trainer can book will be limited and based on the total number of trial requests from other North West based trainers.
- Trials must be booked with Tasracing before 11am on the day of the meeting.
- Trainers must provide the race name or identification details of the greyhound when booking.
- Trainers are only able to book greyhounds that are currently registered in their name.
- Tasracing will manage all trial bookings and reserve the right to refuse future bookings should a trainer not follow the booking process correctly.
- If Tasracing believe the track may be adversely affected by weather or for any other reason, the trial session will be cancelled and trainers will be required to trial after the last race.
Trial conditions:
- Trials will be available from the 461m, 22-pole and 340m boxes only.
- The trial session will commence immediately after kennels close and finish no later than 20 minutes before race 1. Any greyhounds not trialled by this time will be required to trial after the last race.
- The maximum number of dogs per trial will be 4.
- Tasracing retains the right to amend any of the above conditions without notice.
