Tasmanian Harness Yearling Sale on Saturday

The Tasmanian Harness Yearling Sale, the sale that produced last season’s outstanding juvenile Mickey Oh, will be conducted at Carrick Park on Saturday, starting at 2pm. The pre-sale parade will commence at 1pm.

The catalogues lists yearlings by 12 different stallions including the established sires Sweet Lou, Always B Miki, Sportswriter, A Rocknroll Dance, Warrawee Needy, Stonebridge Regal and Changeover and exciting, young sires in Downbytheseaside, Betting Line, Mel Mara and Vincent.

There’s siblings to class performers such as the Raider Stakes winner Watchmylips, Angel Or Demon (Matron and Mother of Pearl), the Sweepstakes winner May’s Place, Karalta Dazzler ($184,403), Stepping Stones and Streitkid ($137,441) and progeny of smart racemares including the Golden Slipper winner Step Up And Play, Karalta Crown (Evicus and Belmont), Belliciouslips (1:55.9), Itz Gemmas Delight, the Sales Classic winners Vouvray Beach and Lady Elaine, Shelbyville ($108,852), Iden Princess (Belmont), Just Like Elle and Angel Or Demon.

Many of Tasmania’s leading breeders including Jamie Cockshutt and Barry Cooper, Shane Hawes, Kerrie Hymers, Sue Streit, Elliott Booth, Melissa and Tim Maine, Shelley Barnes, Michael and Carol Le Fevre, Andrew Thornton, Garry and Merlyn Lethborg and the Howlett family are represented at the sale.

Horses sold at the 2022 Yearling Sale will be eligible for a $5,000 First Win Bonus for their first two-year-old success.
