Harness will see an increase of 1 race meeting (91) for the 2023-24 season.
Below are notable changes for the 2023-24 calendar:
• A Saturday SKY 1 timeslot was allocated to the Tasmanian Trotting Club on 5 August which will hold the inaugural running of the Tasracing Eureka Qualifying Race ‘The Beautide’.
• A Saturday SKY 1 timeslot was allocated to the Launceston Pacing Club on 21 October as host of the Australian Driver’s Championship.
• A Saturday SKY 1 timeslot was allocated to the Tasmanian Trotting Club on 4 November for the running of the 3YO Oaks and Derby. The 2YO Sires Stakes finals will also be held at this meeting.
• SKY was unable to provide a SKY 1 opportunity for a Saturday in December for the running of the Golden Apple. In consultation with the club this feature will be held on Sunday, 3rd December.
• The Carrick Park Pacing Club will again hold their Cup meeting on a Sunday (10 March). The Tasmanian Harness Yearling Sale will continue to be held on this raceday.
• The Tasmanian Trotting Club and Hobart Greyhound Racing Club will again hold a dual code meeting on Good Friday 29th March.
Devonport Harness Racing Club meetings have been reallocated to the following:
• BHRC – 3 meetings
• TTC – 1 meeting
• LPC – 9 meetings
