TEAM TEAL IN HARNESS RACING FOR WOMENCAN
From 1 February to 15 March every year, the harness racing communities in Australia and New Zealand will come together to support WomenCan as reinswomen race in teal pants to raise vital funds and awareness for gynaecological cancers.
As part of the partnership with WomenCan, various state bodies and Tabcorp give a donation for every race won by Team Teal. Further funds are raised in various activities by the local harness racing clubs, businesses and reinswomen.
All funds raised will go towards more ANZGOG’s gynaecological cancer clinical research and education programs to advance research and save lives.
The Harness Racing industry is proud of the contribution made by reinswomen as it’s one of the few sports in the world with a balanced representation of women and men. This emphasises the importance of supporting ANZGOG to help women with ovarian and gynaecological cancers.
Tasmania’s ambassadors this year are Trainer Tammy Langley, Driver Tiarna Ford and Mini Trot driver Tayla Spring. $200 each winning drive from the Ambassadors or any female driver will be donated by Tasracing during the campaign period.
