Hobart trainer David Brunton will be hoping his horse Up Cups can be the first Tasmanian horse since St Andrews in 2002 to win both the Betfair Exchange Hobart and Launceston Cups in a single year.
If successful, Up Cups will win the $100,000 UBET Cups Double Bonus for the trainer and owners.
Winning both cups in the same year is a unique feat – it has been achieved just five times in the past 40 years (Epingle 2014, Zacielo 2004, St Andrews 2002, Brallos 1977 and 1976).
