Champion Tasmanian mare Hot Dipped will be sidelined for six months after suffering a tendon injury
“She had a gallop yesterday morning (Monday) and it was a beautiful gallop, but we had her in last night, shoeing her and I noticed she has suffered a minor lesion to her tendon,” trainer Brendan McShane explained.
“It’s not a career ending or life threatening injury, it’s a tear to the tendon and it’s just going to take six months to recover and then hopefully get her back going again”.
McShane had planned to race Hot Dipped in Melbourne this week end, her long range plans for the Tasmanian Summer Carnival was a first up tilt at the Newmarket, then the Conquering and onto the Bow Mistress and Vamos Stakes…
The trainer says he always thought her best racing would be as a 5YO and he is confident we will see Hot Dipped back in action.
“I’m very sure she will race again, but just not in this current season”.
