Tasracing are producing a new Tasmanian Greyhound Calendar. These calendars will be produced on a quarterly basis and will encompass up to date Greyhound Feature races, Forthcoming Programs and Racing Information. These calendars will replace the Annual calendar that was produced previously.
The first edition on the new calendar with Aug – Oct 2023 Forthcoming Programs have been produced and are available from Peter Hayes at the race day offices, from the Tasracing office and from the HGRC and LGRC offices. The calendar is also available to print off online here
With August being the first month of the new racing season, the new 12-month Feature Calendar is also released. Members of the programming sub-committee, representatives of each club and relevant staff from ORI and Tasracing met in March to workshop the Feature Event calendar and Feature Event prizemoney allocation.
Key Changes:
- The Ladbrokes Chase moved back to the start of January 2024.
- All Feature Races are now grouped, and prize money distributed accordingly.
- Distance races programmed to ensure lead up races towards the National Distance Championship.
- The Maiden Thousand is now a Heat and Final Series.
- With the adjustment to the calendar, some events will be run twice in a season. This will adjust for the next season.
