Tasracing’s commitment to enhancing the development to claiming novice drivers to the Tasmanian harness racing scene has been further strengthened with the appointment of Neville Webberley to the role as a Harness Academy and Mini Trot Instructor.
His role will assist the development of drivers in both group and individual sessions covering various aspects of the sport.
Webberley, an inaugural member of the states harness racing hall of fame in 2014, was Tasmania’s leading driver on seven occasions, to go along side his three trainers titles.
Locally he has trained and/or driven many feature race winners including three Tasmanian Pacing Championship, and three Easter Cup’s.
Throughout Australia he has trained 12 Group 1 winners, the most by a Tasmanian including training Halyer to win the 1990 Australian Derby at Gloucester Park and the 1990 Victorian Oaks with Lady Allora just some of his interstate feature wins.
