Tasracing in conjunction with the Thoroughbred Advisory Network is pleased to announce that from 1 November 2023 the Code Funding Allocation for 2023/24 will be implemented resulting in the following for the industry.
Additional Meetings – There will be 3 additional meetings run during FY24. This will mean a total of 73 meetings for the year up from 70 in FY23.
Stakes will be maintained at their current levels.
Riding Fee – Riding Fee will increase by $10 to $225 per race ride with the Trial Riding Fee increasing by $5 to $70 per trial ride.
Trainers Workers Compensation – $150,000 from Code Funding plus 3% from the total prizemoney of each thoroughbred race (excluding King Island) will be allocated to a pool to assist with Trainers Workers Compensation. The 3% from prizemoney will also assist with Jockeys Workers Compensation and replace the existing $440 per race that is currently paid into a jockeys fund. Tasracing will announce details around when this payment will be made to trainers who show evidence of a current workers compensation policy.
